Cybersecurity, Transparency, and Protecting Public Trust
In today’s world, cybersecurity and public trust are more important than ever.
The Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office manages critical systems and sensitive information that support elections, business operations, government functions, and public services across our state. These systems must remain modern, secure, and resilient against growing threats from foreign adversaries, cyber criminals, and bad actors who may attempt to disrupt operations, steal information, or hold systems hostage through ransomware and cyber attacks.
As someone who helped lead election security efforts in Wyoming, I understand the importance of preparing for modern threats before problems occur. My experience in election security, public service, the Wyoming Department of Corrections, and my service in the United States Navy Reserve have reinforced the importance of vigilance, preparedness, professionalism, and protecting critical systems and infrastructure.
As Secretary of State, I would support continued investments in cybersecurity, technological modernization, disaster recovery planning, staff training, and interagency coordination to help ensure Wyoming remains prepared for evolving threats.
At the same time, strong security and transparent government must go hand in hand.
I believe citizens deserve a government that is open, professional, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves. Public trust is built through honesty, clear communication, consistency, and respect for the rule of law.
As Secretary of State, I would work to ensure the office continues operating with professionalism, transparency, and integrity while protecting sensitive information and maintaining the security of critical state systems.
